A Humbling Experience With Nicky Buckley
Talk to the Animals NINE Network Saturday July 7th 4.30pm
|
 |
When
Nicky Buckley questioned Ballarat animal lover Maxine Lewis, how she coped with
her string of ailments it came as no surprise that her menagerie of animals plays
such a key role in her day by day living.
Maxine Lewis is a remarkable young lady and her story features in Talk to the
Animals, Saturday July 7th on the NINE network (4.30pm).
In between meeting her big horse, ponies, dogs and cats, viewers learn of the
tough blow she has been dealt.
Nicky says, "As a child, Maxine was struck down with glandular fever, then
diagnosed with diabetes which left her with a serious walking problem."
"In her late teens this brave young lady was confronted with cervical cancer. Then
at 22, multiple sclerosis (MS) was the diagnosis."
Maxine's first love was a big equestrian horse, but with her string of illnesses
it is now not possible for her to saddle up her faithful old horse. Instead she
rides her miniature ponies.
Breeding miniature ponies has become her big interest.
Midst all of her medical conditions, this vibrant, caring and sharing person
also is an ambassador for MS.
